I've recently been reading 'The Object Stares Back' by James Elkins and have become fascinated by the idea that desire and possession order the scopic drive. Vision includes a certain level of blindness, but it is our desire that controls this, allowing us to fixate on certain details and disregard others. In my own drawings I try to capture every minute detail. Surely this implies that there is something I'm missing. I wonder what I'm blind to?
